SCDOT seeks public comment on the Transportation Alternatives Program

The South Carolina Department of Tranportation (SCDOT) is seeking comment from the public on its Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) as authorized by the most recent Federal Transportation Funding Act – the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). The Transportation Alternatives Program redefines the former Transportation Enhancement (TE) activities and consolidates these eligibilities with the Safe Routes to School and Recreational Trails Programs. The Transportation Alternatives Program builds upon the legacy of the TE program by expanding travel choices, strengthening the local economy, improving the quality of life and protecting the environment. Approved TAP projects would be programmed for construction as funding becomes available.

Comments will be accepted until the close of business on January 11, 2013.  For more information, click here.
