CDBG Update – 3 Projects Awarded

The following three projects received funding from the April 2018 round of the Community Development Block Grant – Infrastructure Program:

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Project Name: Roundtree Circle Pump Station Project

Grantee:                                                         Chester County

Total Project Cost:                                        $486,300

CDBG Funds:                                               $418,670

Chester County Wastewater Recovery:      $67,630

Beneficiaries:                                                 105 persons, 60 (57%) of whom are low and moderate income.

Project Description:  The project will consist of the replacement of the Roundtree Circle Sewer Pump Station, which is 40 years old and too small to serve the area. The equipment is outdated and the pumps are subject to regular clogging. A larger pump station will be constructed, to include an 80-GPM grinder pump station package with 2 new submersible pumps, a new control panel, upgraded electrical service equipment and a mission communications system. An existing 2-inch force main connecting the pump station to a gravity sewer line will be upgraded to a 4-inch force main.

  1. Project Name:             Flat Rock/Caskey/Depot Pump Stations Upgrade Project

Grantee:                                 Town of Heath Springs

Total Project Cost:                $585,863

CDBG Funds:                       $477,000

Town of Heath Springs:       $108,863

Beneficiaries:                         192 persons, 156 (81%) of whom are low and moderate income.

Project Description:  The Flat Rock, Caskey and Depot Pump Stations serve the southwestern portion of the Town of Heath Springs. All three pump stations are deteriorated, outdated and inadequate. There will be a full replacement of the Flat Rock Pump Station and a partial replacement of the Caskey and Depot Pump Stations, which will provide save and sanitary sewer service to Heath Springs’ southwestern sewer system.

  1. Project Name: Monarch Mill Village Sewer Upgrade Project

Grantee:                     Union County

Total Project Cost:    $847,545

CDBG Funds:           $500,000

Union County:           $347,545

Beneficiaries:             113 persons, 98 (87%) of whom are low and moderate income.

Project Description:  The project will consist of the replacement of 3,240 linear feet of 8” sewer line and 19 manholes to provide safe and sanitary sewer service to the 64 residential properties and 3 church-owned properties in the Monarch Mill Village. Sanitary sewer services in the Monarch Mill Village are owned and operated by the City of Union.
