Lancaster County Neighborhood Stabilization Program Update

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program in Lancaster County has used grant funds to demolish 5 residential structures.  These structures were condemned by Lancaster County and posed a safety threat to the residents in the community.  The owners of the properties granted permission for the structures to be demolished.   Kershaw Builders Supply was awarded the demolition contract and the properties were demolished in December, 2013. There are two additional structures in Heath Springs which will be demolished by Kershaw Builders Supply after asbestos abatement is complete.  Asbestos and Demolition, Inc of Columbia will be responsible for the abatement of all asbestos material in the two Heath Springs properties.  These remaining two properties should be demolished by the end of March, 2014.  If you have any questions about the project, please contact Sherron Marshall or Angela Kirkpatrick at 803-327-9041.
