Town of Fort Mill

The town of Fort Mill, located in York County, South Carolina, is located just across the state line from Charlotte, North Carolina along the I-77 corridor. The town has approximately 10,811 residents living within the corporate limits based on the 2010 Census.

The town was home to the Catawba Indians for many years. In the 1750’s and 1760’s, Scotch-Irish settlers began to arrive and a settlement soon developed. The town of Fort Mill was established in 1873. The town eventually grew due to textile mills in the area.

Today, Fort Mill is home to several notable businesses and is considered one of the fastest growing communities in South Carolina. There are a lot of attractions such as the Anne Springs Close Greenway and the annual Strawberry Festival that make Fort Mill a great town to live and work in.
