Veteran Priority of Service

SC Works Catawba works with veterans to help them translate military skills and experiences into civilian terms that employers understand.

We work closely with Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) and Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) to ensure Veterans receive Priority of Service.

Additionally, we collaborate with the Office for Veterans' Workforce Development to ensure local employers receive hiring information.
We also provide case management services to Veterans for intensive and support services through possible skill upgrades and/or On-the-Job-Training (OJT) opportunities.

You may be eligible for Priority Service if:

You served in the United States military; or were activated as a member of a National Guard or Reserve unit,
or are the Spouse of:

  • A veteran who died of a service-connected disability;
  • A member of the Armed Forces who is:
    • Missing in Action;
    • Captured in the line of duty; or
    • Forcibly detained by a foreign government or power;
  • A veteran who has a Department of Veterans Affairs total disability rating
  • A veteran who died while Department of Veterans Affairs total disability rating existed
