Catawba Regional Council of Governments’ (CRCOG) Community and Economic Development services are an integral component to strengthening, stabilizing, supporting, and growing communities within the region. Through grant programs and technical assistance, CRCOG aids communities throughout the region to better position localities to stimulate economic growth and promote stability. Federal and South Carolina state grant funding, as well as public and private sector capital, can be combined to implement programs that serve to improve public services, facilities, housing, and community safety.
Primary federal and state grant programs administered by CRCOG include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA), SC Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT), and Brownfields. Federal funding sources are the Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), and the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC). The Catawba Regional Development Corporation (CRDC), CRCOG's affiliate, is a 501©(3) organization working in partnership with CRCOG to further support community and economic development activities throughout the region.
