FIRST ARC GRANT AWARDED IN THE CATAWBA REGION!

Project Name: Lockhart Community Development Plan

Grantee: Town of Lockhart

Total Project Cost: $71,500

ARC Funds: $50,000 (70% of the total project cost)

Local Funds: Provided by Union County, Lockhart Power Company, and the Town of Lockhart

Beneficiaries: The residents of the Town of Lockhart

Project Description: The project will establish a community development plan to guide the Town of Lockhart in making strategic investments designed to bolster its tourism economy and attract new businesses and development. The successful consultant will conduct research, interview Lockhart stakeholders, conduct community input meetings, and write the community development plan. The plan will include recommendations, suggested implementation strategies, and cost estimates for implementing the plan’s various components. Catawba Regional Council of Governments will assist the Town with procurement and grant management.
