Chester County Economic Development Director Karlisa Parker was awarded the 2015 Local Developer Award by the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association.
The award was presented to Parker on May 7 at the SCEDA annual meeting in Myrtle Beach,
The award recognizes the hard work and dedication of local developers in South Carolina who have made a significant difference in their community.
Chester County Supervisor Shane Stuart said “Chester County Economic Development is made up of a team of partners, organizations, individuals and governmental leaders who have worked hard for our community. One team member who has proven she can deliver economic results is Karlisa Parker.
“I’m very proud that the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association recognized Karlisa’s efforts, perseverance and determination in her position. Thank you Karlisa for making Chester County a shining example of economic growth.”
Rich Fletcher CEO with the I-77 Alliance added ‘While the award was based upon (Karlisa’s) accomplishments over the past year, the nominating committee praised her dedication to Chester County and her profession over the past decade. The recent successes are based upon all the years of work and dedication Karlisa has put in over the past 10 years. Karlisa is a true asset to our profession and is very deserving of this recognition. We are very lucky to have her as part of the I-77 Alliance.’
S.C. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said “I could not be more proud of Karlisa, a true professional and advocate for her county. We made great music together the last few years!” and he promised “More to come along the I-77 Corridor.”
