The South Carolina Department of Commerce awarded the Town of Fort Mill a $25,000 grant to conduct a Revitalization Plan for the Paradise Neighborhood. The Town is providing the required 10% local match of $2,500 to help complete the plan. Catawba Regional Council of Governments will be assisting the Town in
the development of the plan. A draft of the plan will be completed in September of 2013 and submitted to the SC Department of Commerce’s Grant Administration for review and approval. Once the plan is approved, the Town will be eligible to competitively apply for two implementation phases to complete the selected improvements. Each implementation phase is limited to $350,000 in grant funds which results in a potential of $700,000 in total grant funds for the neighborhood. The Town will be required to provide a minimum of 10% local match for the implementation phases. Eligible activities include sidewalks, street lighting, road and drainage improvements, water and sewer upgrades, park improvements, and demolition of dilapidated structures.
