The following three projects received Community Development Block Grant funding in July 2016 and are now underway:
Project Name: Poovey Farms – Basin 23 Sewer Project
Grantee: Lancaster County
Total Project Cost: $770,630
CDBG Funds: $637,830
City of Lancaster: $132,800
Beneficiaries: 193 persons, 126 (65%) of whom are low and moderate income.
Project Description: Upgrade of sanitary sewer system in portions of Basins 23-A, 23-B and 23-C in the Poovey Farms area of Lancaster County, outside the City of Lancaster. This will address an EPA Consent Order to address sanitary sewer problems in this area.
Project Name: Foster Street Sewer Project
Grantee: City of Union
Total Project Cost: $743,948
CDBG: $675,000
City of Union: $68,948
Beneficiaries: 128 persons, 110 (86%) of whom are low and moderate income.
Project Description: Upgrade of sanitary sewer system in the Foster Street area in the City of Union.
Project Name: Hillcrest & Cloverbrook Sewer Lift Stations Project
Grantee: Town of Clover
Total Project Cost: $535,150
CDBG: $482,850
Town of Clover: $52,300
Beneficiaries: 317 persons, 225 (71%) of whom are low and moderate income.
Project Description: Upgrade of Hillcrest and Cloverbrook sewer lift stations to serve these areas in the Town of Clover.
