Community input needed on “The Good Life” of Tega Cay

The City of Tega Cay is updating its Comprehensive Plan and as a part of community outreach, electronic surveys are available for residents to complete.  The short survey gives participants an opportunity to share their ideas on Tega Cay’s challenges and its possibilities.

“We hope all Tega Cay residents, business leaders, youth, community partners and stakeholders engage in this process and help us plan the future of our city.  This is your opportunity to create a road map for Council to follow,” stated George Sheppard, Tega Cay Mayor.  “With the involvement of our entire community, the Comprehensive Plan that is developed will be based on a shared vision and that plan will positively impact the community we call home.”

People interested in sharing ideas for the future of Tega Cay are encouraged to complete a survey before the end of July.  Links to the survey can be found on Tega Cay’s website www.tegacaysc.org; Fort Mill High School’s website fmhs.fort-mill.k12.sc.us; and Catawba Regional Council of Governments’ website www.catawbacog.org.  For those residents who have already submitted paper surveys, online surveys do not have to be completed.  Printed surveys are available at City Hall through July 31st.

The Comprehensive Plan, mandated in the South Carolina Planning Act, is a reflection of local values.  The elements of the plan include population, land use, priority investment, housing, transportation, economic development, community facilities, cultural resources and natural resources.

Residents will have other means to actively participate in developing the Comprehensive Plan through community meetings and public hearings that will occur through the end of December, 2014.
