The City of Union was awarded a Community Development Block Grant through the Village Renaissance Program from the S.C. Department of Commerce to replace existing sewer lines and demolish vacant and dilapidated structures in the Union Mill Village neighborhood. The two structures pictured are part of a group of six structures that are scheduled for demolition in January 2014. Demolishing the vacant structures will improve the overall appearance of the neighborhood and help prevent criminal activities from occurring at these properties.
