The Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced yesterday that the Chester Sewer District will receive $738,500 in grant funding to construct a new force main and pump station in the Richburg area. The District will put $492,804 of its own funds into the project for a total cost of $1,231,304. This infrastructure expansion will serve Guardian Industries who plan to add a new production line of a highly marketable type of architectural glass. The expansion at Guardian will result in the creation of 40 new jobs and an additional investment of $45,000,000 at the plant. The Council of Governments prepared the EDA application for the Sewer District and will administer the project.
