WIOA Update – SC Vocational Rehabilitation events held in April

Event date: 04/25/2017 (Rock Hill Area office)
Expect, Employ and Empower.  What can you do?

Local businesses and Partners came out to hear the benefits of how Vocational Rehabilitation can benefit business and companies in York County.     There were 28 attendees at the event sponsored by the “disAbilities Committee, a subcommittee of the Catawba Workforce Development Board and SC Works.  The event was planned to let businesses know that VR is here to assist them in finding and maintaining talent.  Those with disabilities are a “hidden talent pool” and we want employers to know the benefits of hiring those with disabilities.

Quote from the Employer providing an employer Testimony.  “VR does a wonderful job for us. They screen for Talent and give us motivated individuals who want to work.  They are a great team to work with, we have 82% placement rate that stuck. Thanks for sending us good people.”  Debbie Stikeleather, SPHR  SHRM-CSP |   HR Manager | PCI Group Inc

Quote from a client: Jennifer Jordan.  “VR teaches the Do’s and Don’ts of working. They helped me a lot. VR was a world changer. If not for them, I would not be where I am without VR.
